Sharon Malzberg:  Benefits from Multi-Cultural World View

Sharon Malzberg

Sharon Malzberg began his life in a multi-cultural family, the son of parents who had immigrated from Romania and Czechoslovakia to New York City in the United States. Sharon Malzberg attended The Buckley School in New York City, a private boys’ school, from kindergarten through the 9th grade and then completed his upper level secondary schooling at The Browning School, a private New York City boys’ school. Sharon Malzberg completed his secondary education in 1984 and entered Lehigh University, where he was part of the Lehigh University Choir as a soloist and part of the barber shop performers. Sharon Malzberg graduated Lehigh with a degree in Political Science in 1988. Sharon Malzberg continued his upper academic education at New York University where he earned his Master of Arts degree in English, which included a summer at Oxford University in England studying at Trinity College.Sharon Malzberg then joined the students and staff of Teacher College of Columbia University as a Doctoral candidate. Sharon Malzberg continues his work today toward an Education Doctorate (E.D.D.).

The family of Sharon Malzberg lived in their home in Austria while overseas, traveling about to popular cities in Italy like Venice, Florence, Rome and Forte de Marmi. Germany was also an exciting destination for day trips, and cities like Munich, Erlangen, Nab burg and Regensburg were often enjoyed. In Austria, Sharon Malzberg gained a lifelong love of Salzburg and Vienna with the memories made with his family there. As an adult, Sharon Malzberg made trips to Montecatini, Italy and Amsterdam in Holland and Paris and Nice in France, as well as St. Petersburg in Russia, Budapest in Hungary and Prague and Carlsbad in Czechoslovakia.
